Two of the members of the Engineering Specialties Group, Steve Dorau and Joel Deis, had the opportunity to judge the University of Colorado Denver Student Design Competition on behalf of ACEC. The competition is held at the end of both the fall and spring semesters and it gives the students an opportunity to showcase their senior design projects. As a part of the student’s curriculum they are required to complete a senior project class where they typically spend two semesters working a project that solves a real world problem. Several disciplines participate in the competition which gives the event a great variety of projects ranging from civil infrastructure design to the design of new and innovative machines to creating great new “apps” for mobile devices. This competition gives the students the opportunity to share what they have accomplished with faculty, family, friends and the outside community.
Each semester the American Council of Engineering Companies (ACEC) of Colorado recognizes the top two student projects and presents each team with a plaque. The teams with the most outstanding projects this semester were:
ReadyO2, Mechanical Engineering
Snow Bike, Mechanical Engineering
ESG would like to congratulate the winners as well as all of the other project teams who spent countless hours working on their projects and creating great products!
